Excited to announce that our paper “Critical role of EEG signals in assessment of sex-specific insights in neurological diagnostics via machine learning approach” has been published in Nature Scientific Reports!

This study demonstrates that neural networks can detect biological sex from EEG signals with notable accuracy across multiple datasets. While sex-related patterns are robustly present in EEG, they appear to have a negligible direct influence on pathological diagnosis at hand. This underscores the need to account for sex as a confounder when developing unbiased AI diagnostic models.
